Rotary believes in developing the next generation of leaders. Our programs help younger leaders build leadership skills, expand education and learn the value of service.

There are 9 youth programs in District 9620 and we, as a club, are actively involved in 3 of them. They are RYPEN, RYTS and RYLA.
RYPEN - Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment - a weekend camp aimed at building and developing self confidence, leadership and social skills for 14-16 year olds
RYTS - Rotary Youth Transition Seminar - a week long live in seminar aiming at equipping school leavers (Years 11 and 12) with the confidence to step out into the real world. This is the one I attended late last year.
RYLA - a week long live in seminar promoting citizenship, personal development and leadership to young people aged 20-30 years. It aims to help young people gains skills to facilitate positive change in the world.
The other 6 programs are:
RRAP - Rotary Reading Assistance Program - assists children 3-5 years old in drought affected areas gain access to one book per month
EARLYACT - a school based community focussed program for primary school students
INTERACT - a school based program for high school students
NYSF - National Youth Science Forum - we have supported this in the past mostly by making the connection for students to attend but we have not sponsored students to attend. Some club members have also assisted with hosting students from interstate while they attend the NYSF.
YEP - Youth Exchange program - Rotary Youth Exchange Australia provides an opportunity of a lifetime for Australian high school students to live & study abroad.
RYDA - Road Safety Program for Year 11 students
