PROJECTS

Watson Street Community Garden

Some of our enthusiastic & knowledgeable members joined forces with the Watson St garden crew, collectively created a solid base for the tanks, then manoeuvred them into position. Later that week, shortly after the pump was connected, it rained heavily and the tanks were soon full. Benefitting from the camaraderie of our Club, the garden crew escalated after one of our members, Charlie, put his landscape designer expertise on paper and created a plan for the entire space. Fast forward to May 2024 and the raised garden beds were built. Support posts were installed and in June, 50 corporate volunteers from Ernst & Young completed and filled the beds. Regular working bees on the first Saturday morning of each month are keeping the garden looking lush and healthy, and volunteers usually leave with a bag full of fresh produce.

Reverse Advent Christmas Hamper Project

Every November our members each take home a carton which they fill with non-perishable grocery items over the next 4 weeks. Community businesses also contribute to this. The cartons are then distributed by our partners at Carindale Salvos and St Vincent de Paul, to families in need.
